Sweater Dresses with a difference

SWEATER DRESSES are always in for fall/winter and this season I have been playing with the possibilities, adding fringes, asymmetrical hemlines, innovative floral designs and colour combinations. They are great to wear with leggings and boots, opaque tights and heels, and most go well over skinny jeans. Once it cools down, sweater dresses are the most fun things to wear both day - paired with fur vests and scarves - and evening when you can dress them up with fancy accessories.

Prices are from around $50 to $150 for all my clothing designs (including custom fitting and all fabrics) and remember you can choose any colours, any fabrics, and any style combinations. I also have a selection of sample items on sale for $10-$25 including fall tops, skirts and dresses. Call me on 803 708 2772 for appointments and feel free to bring any friends along too - we can make it a party!

Here are some of my smart-casual, cosy and comfy sweater dress styles:

Fall Collection

Hi Everyone - Fall is around the corner! Maybe we won't be wearing winter clothes for a while yet, but it is now time to plan ahead, get a fall wardrobe started and think about what we want to wear for Thanksgiving and the Christmas Holiday season. Come and see me (803 708 2772 for appointments) and I can help you with this, as well as design perfect outfits for you or separates to update some of the items you already have in your closet.

So, here are a few of my ideas, translating USA and international fashion trends for fall/winter 2014/15:

1) Fringe and the Kimono Jacket - long fringing, trimming jackets, cardigans and dresses:

Here's a grey animal print fringed, loose kimono style jacket with a velvet, lace and fur scarf draped around the neck (not attached).

Below is my more figure-enhancing fitted kimono style with fringe, a V-shaped hemline, multi-texture, mixed black fabrics including velvet and lace. Looks great over vibrant colors and also all black underneath. I wore white to show you the definition. These can be made in any colours and any sizes.

2) Long Cardigans. Again, I put this one one with white so you can see all the different textures of lace panelling that make this style so tactile and so distinctive. I would typically wear it over darker colours, however, and it looks great with all black underneath, too:

3) High-waisted wide-leg pants (seen here with my new, multi-texture bell-sleeved crop top, another trend - but not suitable for everyone so I also make this top in a longer version to order. You'll notice, too, that I usually make my crop tops so that they only show an inch of flesh, more flattering:

4) Trend - animal prints: Here's a similar high-waisted pants outfit in grey and denim blues, with a snakeskin print on the pants and a flattering, empire-line dress with my signature asymmetrical hemline as well as lace inserts:
Different top - crop plus bell sleeves

5) Black and White - perennial favorite, back again this year:

Sweatshirt with floral detail
Lace Bolero with matching belt
Lace Tunic
6) Aztec Prints - in any style, pants, shirts, dresses, jackets, you name it, Aztec-y, zigzaggy prints are in. Here's my Aztec jacket. This one looks great over grey, black, green or white and can be ordered in a number of plain or printed fabrics, and different weights:

7) Party Dresses: Basic black is always a safe bet and I've come up with some interesting texture combinations so there is nothing basic about my black.  These dresses would look great with a couple more of this season's trends: long tassel necklaces and black short leather jackets:

This is a tunic to go over pants really,
but looks good as a dress too

Great over black leggings and boots for winter!
